Incheon Airport to Seoul 2026: AREX, Bus and Taxi Prices

Incheon International Airport consistently ranks among the best airports in the world—and its transport connections to Seoul are part of the reason why. You have four meaningful options. Each suits a different kind of traveler. None of them are wrong, but some of them are more right for your situation than others.

Option 1: AREX Express Train

Airport limousine buses are the best-kept secret for Incheon arrivals. They run directly to major hotel clusters across Seoul—Gangnam, Sinchon, Hongdae, Myeongdong, Dongdaemun—without requiring any subway transfers. For travelers staying in Gangnam in particular, the bus can deposit you closer to your hotel than any train option would.

The trade-off is time variability. Traffic on the Incheon-Seoul expressway is unpredictable, particularly on Friday evenings and Sunday afternoons when the highway fills with weekend returnees. Budget the higher end of that range during those windows.

Incheon Airport to Myeongdong

Take the AREX Express to Seoul Station, then subway Line 4 two stops to Myeongdong Station — about an hour door to door, ₩11,000 plus a ₩1,550 subway fare. Incheon Airport to Gangnam

Skip the trains. No rail route reaches Gangnam without at least one transfer and 40 or more extra minutes, so the limousine bus is the right call — Gangnam-bound routes drop you at major hotels and intersections in 60–90 minutes depending on traffic. A taxi covers the same ground at the upper end of the ₩65,000–85,000 range and makes sense for a group of three or four splitting the fare.

Arriving After Midnight

AREX stops running at 11:32pm, and limousine bus frequencies thin out around the same time. After midnight the practical options are a Kakao T taxi — expect the meter at the top of the ₩65,000–85,000 range or above, since the night surcharge peaks at 40% between 11pm and 2am — or a pre-booked private transfer with a driver waiting at arrivals, which turns a groggy 1am landing into the simplest version of this journey.

One Important Detail

Incheon Airport has two terminals. Terminal 1 serves most international carriers. Terminal 2 serves Korean Air, Delta, Air France, and KLM. They are connected by a free shuttle train (approximately 18 minutes) but are not walking distance.
